The
focus of our research is primarily on the optical
properties of semiconductors and nanostructures. We collaborate with several groups fabricating novel structures that
exhibit interesting optical properties. By using spectroscopic
ellipsometry, we study their optical behavior in both the transparent as
well as the absorption region. While the optical properties in the
transparent region are mainly useful in designing various optoelectronic
devices using these structures, their behavior in the absorption region is
useful to study numerous phenomena and is rich in physics. We have several projects that explore the optical properties of
semiconductors as well as nanostructures.
